About Us

Welcome to Kindred Creations. We would like to introduce you to the team who helps keep things going here at KC.

Rebecca Hayes, Owner

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy your time here. I got into scrapbooking in Junior High, when my Mom recruited me to help her finish my younger sisters baby book. I have been hooked ever since, I joined Kindred Creations as a regular member looking for inspiration, and eventually ended up taking on the role of owner. I have been married for four years to my wonderful husband Steve, and we have an almost 2 year old son named Aiden. I love simple yet elegant pages, although I am now dabbling more in bold colors and lines because I have so many pictures to scrap of my little boy. I hope you will find all the inspiration you need here!

Willemien, Design Team Member

Hi, I’m Willemien Katerberg and I go by the name ‘nifty’ on the boards.  I have been scrapping since 2004 after I had seen some very basic scrapbooking.  I loved the idea of gathering my photos and journaling together in an album us and for future generations.  I was somewhat frustrated though by the simplicity of what I had seen, and felt there must be more.  I happened to stumble upon Kindred Creations in March of 2005, and it almost immediately clicked.  I learned so much, and saw so much inspiration here at KC.  In 2006 I took up digital scrapbooking as well, and I have dabbled in digital design since then.  The opportunity arose in Oct of 2007 to join the Design Team here at Kindred Creations, and I have been grateful to give back to the community that has become my online ‘home’.  Scrapbooking is a wonderful change of pace from the work I do on the dairy farm my husband and I have.  I love to try new techniques, and new products.  Some of my favourite techniques are distressing, stitching, hand cutting, stamping, and adding dimension to a page.  You can check out my gallery here.

I stumbled into KC while hunting for fonts May 2004. I didn’t start visiting the boards till much later! I was in complete awe of the talent in this pool!

I started digitally scrapping purely by accident! I saw a digital lay out here on KC that  intrigued me so much that I started Googling digital scrap booking. I then went and purchased an inexpensive photo manipulation program (think I spent about $40 US) and started! Very basic at first, but with every subsequent lay out I have been more experimental with what I do! I have since upgraded my software – and my hardware and have been practicing new techniques. Lately I have been playing with blending modes & layer styles… Oh I just love this hobby!

Dana, Design Team Member

My name is Dana and I discovered scrapbooking when my husband decided that he wanted to buy me some albums and stuff for Mother’s Day in 2003. I was pregnant at the time & after giving birth to my son I started scrapbooking in early 2004.

I love to scrap my 2 sons, 3 stepsons, and hubby as well as my nieces, nephews & other family. I am constantly getting roped into doing gift albums for them too!

I discovered KC shortly after I began scrapping and immediately fell in love with the community, the great members & all the new things I was learning. I joined the DT in 2007 and have been having a blast challenging my self & its members. I look forward to continuing to challenge others to learn new things & step outside of their box!

Katie, Digital Design Team Member
My name is Katie and my user name is “sakura-panda”. I am married to my almost-high-school-sweetheart (we started dating after our high school graduation) and we have two children.

I started scrapbooking (without realizing it) when my friend took me to a sticker store and I discovered 12 inch albums and pretty paper. I quickly fell in love with the idea of being able to crop my photos and arrange them in any way I wanted without being limited by the size and placement of pockets in an album.

While I do not do any “hybrid” scrapping, I do equal amounts of digital and paper. For me, they are separate techniques with separate purposes – paper is for get-togethers and fun times with friends using older photos and digital is for more recent photos and printing into books to share with family.

My style is very simple; my goal is to show off my family, more than the pictures or techinique, so that my layouts are often photo heavy, simply designed and with limited journaling.

Teresa, Design Team Member

Hello!!

My name is Teresa Steele - Sammysgirl on the forum. I am married to my best friend and together we have 4 children. They are my main focus when it comes to creating my layouts.
I joined Kindred Creations in August of 2004 on the advice of a friend and have been enjoying it every since. In October of 2007 I was lucky enough to be chosen as a Design Team Member for KC and have been enjoying every minute of it. Knowing I am helping to inspire our members is a very satisfying feeling.
I am a paper scrapper and absolutely love it. There is nothing better than opening up a box of fresh supplies to help the creating process.
Photography is another passion , which I suppose goes hand in hand with scrapbooking.
I am forever greatful for the art of scrapbooking. I have met so many wonderful people, both online and in person that I would never have otherwise met if it weren’t for scrapping.
Check out my gallery HERE at KC. See you at KC!

Jen, Digital Designer

My name is Jen [user: ruby_dragon] and I recently got into scrapbooking myself - July 2008, to be exact! I have been artistic all of my life and have been independantly dabbling as an artist for quite some time now. I’m a fun-loving, humerous person who loves being creative - especially when the inspiration comes from my two crazy cats! They’re my “kiddies” ;) lol :) Soon after having started scrapping, I was introduced to KC, and just fell in love with the place! :D I look forward to being a part of the community as well as I hope to get to know a lot of you!
